Notice is hereby given that the 53rd Annual General Meeting of the Institute will hold virtually at the CIPM House, 1 CIPM Avenue, Central Business District, Alausa-Ikeja, Lagos.

Please note that:

  • Only financially up-to-date Members (i.e. those that have paid their subscription up to 2021) on a minimum grade of Associate will participate in the virtual AGM and elections.
  • Attendance at the National Annual General Meeting attracts 5 credit points for CIPM Membership Upgrade.
  • Members in doubt of their financial status should please contact the Headquarters before the AGM via Membership helplines on 09094625615 (Call, SMS or WhatsApp chat) or email subscriptions@cipmnigeria.org.
  • The soft copies of the Annual Report and Financial Statements will be sent to financially active Members via e-mail ahead of the Meeting.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Members who wish to nominate and vote must:

  • be an Associate, Full Member or Fellow
  • pay their membership dues up to 2021

Members who wish to contest in any of the elective positions must fulfil the following conditions:

  • CIPM member on the grade of Associate, Full Member, or Fellow
  • membership dues must be paid up to 2022
  • prospective contestants must be in good standing and abide by the Institute's code of conduct and professional ethics
  • update his/her profile online in the Institute’s database during the year of election
  • have a valid HRPL
  • active and financially up to date at the State Branch level

 

HOW TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION

The two options below are the only valid means of Nomination for this AGM

  • Give your sponsor to fill and sign ‘Section A’ of the form
  • Fill and sign ‘Section B’ of the form
  • Give your Branch Chairperson to fill and sign 'Section C' of the form
  • Send the completed and signed form, your recent headshot photograph and a one-page profile to nominations@cipmnigeria.org 
  • Login to the CIPM portal with your membership number and password to update your biodata and manifesto. Please refer to the 2022 - 2024 Strategic Imperatives to develop your manifesto

CAMPAIGN GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS

Campaigns will hold between April 11 - 21, 2022. All Campaign activities end April 21, 2022 at 4.00pm. Contestants must comply with this to avoid disqualification and are advised to inform their campaign team.

Profiles and manifestos of contestants will be uploaded to the Institute’s website and sent to members via email.  Contestants will also have the opportunity to interact with members through various platforms that the Institute shall promote and support. Campaigns should however avoid unethical practices and tactics and bear in mind Personal Private Data Protection laws to avoid the risk of litigation.

Unethical Campaign Tactics

These include but are not limited to:

  • Sending text messages, emails, and other campaign materials to members by contestants or other individuals on behalf of contestants once campaigns have closed. Except through a disclaimer, such a post is an indictment.
  • Communicating defamatory messages or posts against other contestants via any platform (text, social media messages, orally, etc.)
  • Working in groups or alliances to discredit other contestants
  • Offering any form of financial inducement in exchange for votes
  • Unprofessional manner and tone of campaigns on any platform

Acceptable Platforms for Campaign

  • Contestants’ social media pages
  • E-flyers
  • Campaigns and talk shops during Branch and Chapter meetings
  • Personal outreach to own networks
  • Text messages and emails

Sanctions for infractions and violations

The Electoral Committee, after due investigations, shall disqualify from contesting in the 2022 elections, any contestant who breaches the campaign regulations above.

Please note that:

  • All contestants’ campaign activities must comply with the Government’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
  • Virtual Election Debate for President, Vice President and National Treasurer positions will hold April 20, 2022.
  • Virtual Election Debate for Elected Council Member position will hold April 21, 2022.

E-VOTING GUIDELINES

 

  1. Visit www.cipmnigeria.org
  2. Click on Portal Login
  3. Login with your membership number (do not include the first number and the “/” symbol i.e. use 2222 instead of 1/2222) and password. If you do not remember your password, follow the steps below to reset:
  1. click on forgot password
  2. enter your membership number
  3. a new password will be sent to your registered email (check your spam/junk folder if not in inbox)
  4. copy and paste the new password into the password field
  5. change the password to your preferred as soon as you login successfully to your portal
  1. Click the “Login” button
  2. Click on “Voting” at the top
  3. On the voting page, enter the same email address and phone number in your portal biodata and click “send token” (you will receive a token within 5 minutes to cast your vote. If your registered number is WhatsApp enabled, you will also get the token via WhatsApp)
  4. Enter the token and click submit (the token is case sensitive and should be entered exactly as received)
  5. Select the state you are voting from
  6. Click on the elective position at the left of the page, and the contestant(s) in that position will be displayed. Click “View manifesto and vote”
  7. Scroll to the bottom to click “vote”
  8. Repeat steps 9 and 10 to cast your vote for the contestants of your choice in all the elective positions
