This is specifically designed for Lecturers, Vice Chancellors, Professors, Readers, Researchers, Head of Department that lectures Human Resource/ Industrial Relation/ Employee Relation and other related fields.
CATEGORY A
- (a) Minimum of Bachelor’s degree/HND or its equivalent.
- (b) Minimum of seven (7) years post-graduation/NYSC experience.
- (c) Currently employed in any recognized higher Institution and occupying a position not less than Lecturer I and II, Graduate Assistants and Head of Department.
- (d) Lectures and assesses relevant subject area at undergraduate or Masters Level.
- (e) Record of attendance at five (5) relevant Human Resource Management courses/programmes or Authored (individual or jointly) a relevant article, review or other publication in the last 7 years (WITH EVIDENCE OF SAID PUBLICATION).
- (f) Last promotion letter stating current position.
- (g) Supervises undergraduate or postgraduate level research in a relevant subject area.
- (h) Takes part in internal or external HR research.
- (i) Participates in funded relevant research.
- (j) Two Reference details MUST be provided as part of the application process (one of the references must be supplied by the current/most recent employer/line manager).
- (k) Applicants who meet the above criteria (following assessment by the Institute and the approval of Leadership) would be required to participate in a 2-day programme titled: "Contemporary Human Resource Management Practice: Issues and Challenges".
- (l) Successful applicants shall be inducted as Associate Members (ACIPM) of the Institute.

CATEGORY B
- (a) Minimum of Master’s degree or its equivalent.
- (b) Minimum of twelve (12) years post-graduation/NYSC Lecturing experience or its equivalent.
- (c) Currently employed in any recognized higher Institution and occupying a position not less than Senior Lecturers, Vice Chancellors, Reader, Professors, Associate Professors.
- (d) Record of attendance at five (5) relevant Human Resource Management courses/programmes or Authored five (5) relevant research/journal articles or other publications in reputable academic or professional media.
- (e) Record and evidence of successful completion of Research Projects within the applicant’s core area/specialization with ability to clearly communicate these achievements.
- (f) Last promotion letter stating current position.
- (g) Supervises postgraduate level research in an HR subject area.
- (h) A course examiner in or an external examiner in a defined HR subject area.
- (i) Participates in and leads funded research in relevant policy.
- (j) Contributes to or leads innovation in the design and delivery of practical HR tools.
- (k) Two Reference details MUST be provided as part of the application process (one of the references must be supplied by the current/most recent employer).
- (l) Applicants who meet the above criteria (following assessment by the Institute) will be invited for an interactive session (mandatory experiential Interview). Upon successful assessment at the interview and approval by the Leadership, you would then be required to participate in a one-day mandatory Programme titled: “Strategic Human Resource Management Master Class” as part of the admission process.
- (m) Successful applicants shall be inducted as Full Members (MCIPM) of the Institute.
